This policy covers how Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations (CCHF) treats the personal information we collect and receive from donors.

When you donate to CCHF, we share your contact information with the CCHF-participating hospital that was designated as the recipient of your donor gift. You are advised to review the receiving hospital’s privacy policy to see how they will use your donor information.

CCHF does not rent, sell or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies except to provide the products or services you have requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

• To respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
• If we believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of CCHF’s terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.
• To transfer information about you if CCHF is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, CCHF will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

How to correct or update your personal information

Donors who have previously opted in to external communication lists and services can also use the above contacts to inform CCHF should you no longer wish to have your personal information shared outside of the organization.

Confidentiality and security

Your personal information will be accessible only to employees who we reasonably believe need access in order to do their jobs or to provide you with the products or services you requested.
